Stacy Julian scheduled for key note address.

Crop Because You Care hits high note with 10 year anniversary.

Salt Lake City- January 25, 2011 – It was officially confirmed today that Stacy Julian, founder of Big Picture Scrapbooking, and beloved by Scrapbookers worldwide, has agreed to present the key note address at the 10th Annual Crop Because You Care fundraising event.

"We are excited that Stacy is joining us again this year at CBYC” says Bethany Blackham, CBYC Committee Chairperson. “Along with being a Scrapbooking celebrity, she is such a fun person to be around and we all really enjoy her enthusiasm and spunk while she teaches us about so many things! She is a generous, loving and down to earth person.”

Crop Because You Care is an annual fundraising event in partnership with The Epilepsy Association of Utah with all proceeds benefiting the people of Utah living with Epilepsy. In past years, the funds have been earmarked for the Association’s Camp Spike and Wave held at the National Ability Center in Park City, Utah.

Kris Hansen, Co- Founder of CBYC added: “Crop Because You Care has become a favorite event of Scrapbookers not only in Utah, but from as far away as North Dakota, California and 6 other states. Along with our annual page contest, gift bags, raffle prizes and silent auction, we have many extra surprises for our 10th year anniversary! Be sure not to miss this one!”

CBYC invites all crafters to come join in the fun from 10am to 10pm Saturday, February 26th at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy, Utah. Registration is $25.00 dollars in advance and $30.00 dollars at the door. Registration forms can be filled out online or downloaded at: http://www.epilepsyut.org/events2011crop.html.

About Crop Because You Care

Crop Because You Care was founded in 2001 by Kris Hansen and Karen Glenn to help raise money and awareness for Epilepsy in Utah. What started out small has since blossomed into the Premier Scrapbooking event in Utah, being copied by many organizations. Crop has seen annual growth, slowing down in past years, but still enjoys a healthy stream of Crafters. All profits were used to fund Camp Spike and Wave over the years providing 65 teenagers, with epilepsy, the opportunity of enjoying a safe camping environment. This camp gives teenagers that are dealing with the many challenges of epilepsy, opportunities to participate in activities that they wouldn't normally be able to take pleasure in and the chance to talk with other teenagers coping with similar things.

Camp Spike and Wave is sponsored by CBYC and the Epilepsy Association of Utah. New statistics conclude that 1 in every 26 people are affected with epilepsy at some time in their lives. Epilepsy is a disorder with a variety of causes and may also be considered a seizure disorder. Epilepsy affects more people than multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and Parkinson's disease combined.

About The Epilepsy Association of Utah

The Epilepsy Association of Utah is a 501(c)3 charity whose mission is to provide awareness, education, support services, and advocacy for and in behalf of all those dealing with the many challenges of epilepsy/seizure disorders.

Thank you!

I haven't completely had time to recover from CBYC this year, I will be putting some polls up in the next few weeks. Although I want you to know that I appreciate everyone for coming, everyone that donated and everyone that helped. We couldn't do this without you. I was really scared with donations being slow and the recession and everything. I am just so amazed at the love and support we receive. Thank you! We love you!

CBYC blog

Dear Croppers,

I set up this blog so that you can feel like part of the group! We need ideas, help and support to keep CBYC going. We are so very grateful for the support you have given us over the last seven years! Thank you!

We are looking to grow and we need your help. So please let us know what you think of CBYC and what we can do to better it. Please also let us know of your advertising ideas. We have found that 65% of new attendees learn about CBYC from their friends. So we need your help!

Thank you!
Love Always,
Kris
